Myth-ing Persons (Myth Adventures #5) by Robert Lynn Asprin

Another installment in the Myth Adventures series. This time the aspiring magician, Skeeve, must try to rescue his partner, Aahz, from another dimension. It turns out that Aahz is in prison for murder and is going to be executed. The dimension where he is is inhabited by vampires and werewolves, who are pretty peaceful people, but they are deadly afraid of humans. Humans, after all, tend to kill vampires and werewolves on sight without any warning. Could there be worse monsters? After a few amusing adventures with a lot of puns, Aahz is, of course, rescued. This book felt a bit tired and was the worst in the series yet. There was nothing new; the jokes were pretty flat and the plot wasn’t engaging. Even the writing felt worse. Perhaps the author was starting to get bored with this series.
