Martha Wells: Rogue Protocol (The Murderbot Diaries #3)
A part of the Murderbot series I had not read. Murderbot travels to an abandoned space station to find out more dirt on the company he used to work for. He ends up helping a group of researchers who are also surveying the station to find out its current condition. It is especially baffling for Murderbot that this group of people seem to treat their robot with respect and as a friend. He has not encountered anything like that before. Murderbot ends up saving this group from mercenaries sent by the evil company to destroy any evidence implicating it for crimes. It severely hinders his habits of watching entertainment videos, though. It's another fun installment in the series. Murderbot has a nice sarcastic, wry, and humorous inner voice. The book is not great literature, but it is a fun read.
