A Hugo award winner in the novella series. The inhabitants of an old people's home start to have strange symptoms, first short, powerful feelings, then hallucinations, later loss of consciousness – all at the same time. And there also seem to be some real-world effects.
A pretty good story of a group of 80-year-olds awaking as a shared transcended consciousness. The writing was competent, not best ever, but good.
